Cheer
These classes are to create two and a half minute Cheer routines for Cheerleading
competitions. Consisting of dance, stunts, cheers and tumbling.
Dance
These classes are to create routines that focus on the dance element of cheerleading.
The routines will mainly be used for local shows and talent competitions so
may involve stunts, tumbling and be longer than two and a half minutes. These
routines will allow for a variety of dance styles, songs and themes that would
not be permitted under the rules of a Cheerleading Competition.
Tumbling
Beginner Tumbling: For a student
who has no experience in tumbling and needs to develop basic skills. Examples:
forward and backward rolls, splits, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, back
bend kick over, front walk over and introduction to a back flip.
Intermediate Tumbling: For the cheerleader who has mastered the beginning tumbling skills required and is close to achieving a back flip with a light assisted spot. Also for those who have already mastered a back flip and are working towards a back tuck with support.
